Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rain, rain go away, come again some other day. Little Ali wants to play (aka shop), rain, rain go away! This week in GA it's been raining, and raining, and raining some more (with small traces of sun). So I had to revamp my photo shoot for the day! I decided to grab my black galoshes from DSW and my over the knee socks. I stuck with my favorite fall color combo, and chose my black and white graphic trench and got my Solange on adding a similar black and white printed shirt.

I don't know about you, but the rain makes me want to cuddle up with a good book or movie, some popcorn, get some hot chocolate, or take a nap. What about you? How does the rain make you feel? Hopefully, this weekend we can escape the rain! TGIF luvs. See ya on Monday :)

Transitioning my Black & White Maxi for Fall

I'm always looking for a way to revamp my wardrobe to accommodate different seasons (since I'm originally from Michigan). Now that the Georgia temperatures have fallen it is my mission to elongate my wardrobe to extend to the changes in seasons. So Sunday, when I was looking for something to wear to church I wanted to revamp my cute geometrically stripped maxi dress (that can be seen worn here) and make it fall ready! I grabbed my simple black tee from Forever 21, my cropped faux leather jacket from Forever 21, my feather necklace to add drama to the look, and my three pronged belt to bring the look together and here's what I ended up with!

BLACK & WHITE STRIPES
Here is how I was able to transition my black and white summer maxi (dress) into a look ready for fall, in my favorite color combo; black and white.
:: Faux Leather Cropped Jacket: Forever 21::
:: White Feather Necklace: Charlotte Russe::
:: Black T - Shirt: Forever 21::
:: Geometric Black & White Maxi Dress: Atlanta Boutique in Perimeter Mall::
:: Sunnies: Aldo::
:: Suede Wedges: Target::
:: Three Pronged Belt: Forever 21::

Hopefully, this outfit post will give you inspiration and the courage to look through your very own closet and remix the items you have to transition from Summer to Fall to Winter! It can be done fashion sensers. You just need a little imagination and patience to see what looks best and how you can maximize the pieces you already own! Happy Hump Day and Thanksgiving Eve luvs!

Army Green with Curls

I woke up Saturday with the intent to try something new with my hair, then to shoot for my latest blog post with my awesome photographer, aka my hubby. I wanted a cute curly hairstyle to balance out the toughness in my army green utility vest along with my all black finishes (black long sleeve shirt, pants, and wedge boots). Can I be honest with you?  I didn't really like my hair, but it started to grow on me as the day went on.

GIRLS WITH CURLS
Here's my attempt at becoming curly sue. I was really trying to channel "Robin" from the original Best Man movie (played by Sanaa Lathan) with her cute, structured, curly doo. It didn't quite turn out the best, but the show must go on right? Here are the details about my outfit, in case you're curious.
|Long Sleeve Danceskin Shirt: Walmart| Utility Vest: Forever 21| Pants: Forever 21| Sunnies: Aldo| Faux Fur Stole: H&M| Candie's Wedge Boots: Kohl's|

I put this ensemble together because I wanted something to wear that would be able to transition from day to night. I had a community service project that I worked on with my church earlier in the day, then later that night I went to see "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and had dinner with the family (my hubby, father (in - law), and brother (in - law)! All in all it was a great day, and I felt and looked great getting things done!

Happy Monday luvs,

Class President 2.0

I was in ATL a couple of weekends ago, so you know I had to drop by the mall (one of my fav places) to peruse the aisles of some of my favorite stores. I stopped by Forever 21 in Arborplace Mall and snagged a couple cool pieces. And immediately I had an idea on how I was going to style them in my head :)

I picked up an "A" sweatshirt. How perfect, it represents my awesomeness (lol), my first and last name initial, plus it's in my favorite color combo: black and white. The huge "A" on the front reminds me of Alvin and the Chipmunks (or the Scarlett Letter minus the scarlett hue), but it also put me in the mind set of a school girl. Back in high school (umpteenth years ago) I was the Class President. So here's my ode to the "Class President 2.0" (updated in a 2013 kind of way).

While I was in Forever 21 I also picked up some bad (as in good) faux suede over the knee boots. I figured I could pair the boots, with the sweatshirt I purchased, along with my leather skater skirt and some over the knee socks (which I snagged from DSW) to complete my school girl look. I added a statement necklace to amp up the glam factor and my black rimmed glasses to complete my sophisticated nerdy look.

SCHOOL DAZE
I ran to one of my fav local cafe's, the Bare Bulb for my shoot to elevate the ambiance for my "Class President 2.0 vibe." Here are the outfit details: Sweatshirt: Forever 21, Skate Skirt: H&M, Knee High Socks: DSW, Over the Knee Boots: Forever 21, Statement Necklace: Charlotte Russe.

I love these boots!!!

By the way today is such a good day! I'm finally on the road to accomplish one of my dreams. I am attending my orientation for Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) where I will be entering as a Junior for the Spring (2014) Semester in the Apparel and Textile Department! To all my subbies that have a dream, GO AFTER IT! You won't regret it!

Glitter, Capes, and Denim

I'm a huge fan of denim on denim as you probably know from post I've done in the past. But I wanted to add a few more elements to make my newest style creation"pop!" Since the temperatures have been antonyms of warm I wanted to be sure I was covered up. So I opted for my wolf gray button up cape, sparkly glitter platforms (which I wore during my nuptials), and my aviator shades to glam up my all denim ensemble. I wore my hair tussled and parted in the middle and took in some of natures Autumn beauty before hitting the gym and here's what I ended up with.

GLITTER, CAPES, & DENIM [OH MY]
My outfit made me feel super feminine and powerful at the same time. Here's the run down on my look: Gray Cape: Forever 21, Denim Shirt: Target, Denim Skinny Jeans: Forever 21, Glitter Platforms: Steve Madden, Aviators: Aldo, Snob Lipstick and Gloss: M.A.C

Do you have any capes that you will be keeping warm as we transition from Fall to Winter? If not, you should grab one immediately. They are chic, warm, and super cute! Have a great start to your week luvs, make every minute count!

Making It Work

I had a Tim Gunn "Make it Work" moment Saturday night. I needed to quickly pick something to wear to church so that I could get in the shower and in the bed for my early rise on Sunday. Have you ever had that moment when you look around in your closet and nothing screams out "wear me?" Well, that was me Saturday night. Until I stumbled across my "Bumblebee" skirt (the skirt is black, yellow, cream, and tan). Once I had the skirt I pulled out my cream top with ruffled sleeves, my cream blazer, and my new fav wedges from Forever 21 and wallah...it all came together like magic! I'm pretty pleased with this look. I added some gold accessories just to give the  look a better boost.

Here's the low down on the outfit.

I always feel like a busy bee. My agenda stays on full. Just like on Sunday, I have a weekend full of items to check off my checklist. But I always want to look my best :) So here's to getting things done and looking great. Have a great weekend luvs.

Fall Fur & Florals

There is nothing I love more than (faux) fur. I was in a rush on Saturday to head out to a rehearsal then a baby shower. I needed something that I could throw on quickly (without ironing...which I must admit, I hate) that was cute enough for a baby shower, but that would keep me warm. I stumbled upon my sheer floral shirt I picked up from H&M about a year ago. I knew the shirt was too thin to keep me warm, so I topped it with my (pink poodle lol) furry jacket that I scored from Forever 21. I pulled out my Old Navy jeans and dusted off my cute suede boots from Aldo to round out my look. I added my DIY floral headband that I created (Here). I was very pleased how the look came together. Check it out below.

PINK POODLE
Here's the scoop on my "Pink Poodle" outfit.
| Pink Faux Fur: Forever 21| Floral Sheer Shirt: H&M| Pink Tank: Forever 21| Floral Head Band: DIY Project| Denim Jeans: Old Navy| Suede Boots: Aldo| Juicy Couture Charm Bracelet: Juicy Couture| Sunnies: Forever 21|

I know the jacket is different, but I really like it :) Which item in your closet is the most unique? Let me know below.

Happy Hump Day,

Happy Veteran's Day

When I was straightening up my closet one Saturday afternoon I found a tee that I had ordered during the first Presidential Term of our POTUS "President Barack Obama!" I will never forget the feeling I felt when I was on a train with my dad, on a cold morning in the nation's capitol to see President Obama get sworn in for his first Presidential Inauguration. I felt like I was inserted into a special part of history. No other feeling was greater. So when I saw this shirt online I knew I had to cop it immediately. It's a little satire and word play off "Run DMC" instead exchanging the POTUS' face with a top hat and gold chain repping "Run DC!" Hopefully, it's not taken offensively I just really liked the shirt. Here's my way of jazzing up the shirt, just in time for Veteran's Day!

SAYING THANKS
Here's a little treat for all the Veteran's out there who tirelessly represent(ed) America. We salute you and say THANK YOU for all you've done (on our behalf of us as U.S. citizens). HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!
