Muted Spring Palette

When I think of spring I think of pastels, Easter, rain, sunshine, and flowers. I am finding myself fall into these muted, pale tones when I shop for spring items like the items on today's blog post. If you are nervous to rock mint green or robins egg blue then you can go for a more subtle, softer palette that includes soft grays, pale pinks, nude camel - tones etc. My look is comprised of a pale pink duster vest, faux heather gray skirt, gray blouse, gray strappy platform sandals, my white leather lunch-bag clutch, and of course my favorite accessory to date…my statement necklace.

Outfit Details: Strappy Gray Sandals: Forever 21 (here in black & gray), White Lunch - Bag Clutch: Forever 21 (similar here), Blush Vest: Forever 21 (here), Leather Skirt: Topshop (similar here)

The soft muted tones make me feel warm, happy, and ready to take on all the fun and adventure that spring has to offer!

Gladiator In Pink

Last Saturday was all about making the best of a cool, crisp, Autumn day. The temperatures in Georgia have literally been like a roller coaster. 75 today, 45 tomorrow. The constant changes of cool to warm are definitely hard to keep up with especially when you're trying to dress warm enough while still putting your best foot forward. I knew I didn't have much on my agenda besides working on my presentations for my last day of school for the semester (which was Monday). So, I grabbed the simplest, most classic items a girl has in her closet to create this Gladiator (Scandal Reference) Off - Duty. A white simple tee, skinny denim jeans, chocolate riding boots, animal print scarf, and my blush pink overcoat that I nicknamed "Liv" since it reminds me of Olivia Pope. Ok the coat is not really nicknamed Liv but can you tell I'm a huge Scandal fan?

Outfit Details: Coat (H&M), Scarf (Charlotte Russe), White Tee (4imprint.com),
Skinny Jeans (Forever 21+), Riding Boots (Forever 21)

The only thing this photo shoot was missing was a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows of course to fight off the frigid air! I had a blast during this shoot, as I was serving Gladiator realness in my blush pink coat. P.S Scandal please hurry back, I miss the Thursday night drama lol. What is your go - to coat for the Fall/Winter Season? Is it a cape? Trench? Duster? Let me know in the comment section below.

Happy Hump Day

Unlikely Pair

There are times when things come together that are very unlikely. For instance I love to eat watermelon and salt! Is that weird? My hubby definitely thinks it's gross but I suggest you try it (if you haven't tried it already). Another unlikely pair is pairing my blush pink tank with my burnt orange blazer and gladiators. The colors aren't the most likely pair but in some twisted way, it works!  I like to just rummage through my closet and mix and match items that may not be intended for each other. Ali's Fashion Tip: don't be afraid to try out different color pallets, to mix different fabric textures, or just try something a little different whether you're in your closet or shopping at the mall.

Outfit Details: Burnt Orange Blazer (Forever 21), Pink Ruffled Shirt (Forever 21), Distressed Denim Shorts (Forever 21), Orange Sunnies (Forever 21), Gladiators (GoJane.com), Layered Key Necklace (Forever 21)

Do you ever put together unlikely pairs? Unique color combinations? Interesting food combinations? I'd love to hear about it! Have a great hump day luvs.
