Faux Goth: Inspiration

I can sit for hours on end perusing magazines and online shops browsing awesome fashion. When I see cool fashionistas I clip a picture and save it to my iPad, iPhone, or computer to recollect for a future date. Today's post is about a recreation of a look I found from a fashion newsletter that I received months ago. I will show you how I was able to take the look and made it my very own! ***STAY TUNED***

MY MUSE
I stumbled across this all black edgy, chic look and fell completely in love. There's something about an all black ensemble and leather that makes me giddy. So you know I had to recreate the look taking an "Ali' Approach" to make it my own! If you're interested to see how I was able to remix this look with items from my closet check it out below ;)

ALL BLACK EVERYTHING: MY PERSONAL INTERPRETATION
This look was super edgy. So I titled it "Faux Goth!" My photographer aka my hubby said I looked borderline scary. But I love that the outfit is dark yet chic! Here's how I made the look my own. I took a dress I purchased for my bday from Forever 21, my fav faux fur vest from Forever 21 (not shown in the original look, just my little added flare), my moto boots I purchased from Target, a faux leather jacket from Forever 21, as well as a gold and emerald ring from Charlotte Russe. Can you see the pattern here? Any-who, this is what I came up with!

Caution!

I've mentioned it before. Don't be afraid to find inspiration (from anywhere: whether it's a magazine, a color, a trend, a texture etc.) and make it your own. I do it all the time. It gives me a chance to stretch my closet to get the most bang for my buck and wearability and depth to the items I love most!
