We Rock Sequin During The Day

You guys know at Ali's Fashion Sense I'm all about breaking fashion rules. Typically sequin is not worn as a daytime garment. When you think sequin usually you think about New Years Eve, sparkly dresses, special occasion gowns etc. Not t - shirts. That's exactly why I wore my sequin shirt to class. To dress down my sequin shirt, I paired it with my denim overalls, pink blazer (with gold buttons), and my gold oxfords. I wore a similar outfit during my trip to Cali (you can check out that look here). Same concept, but a little more snazzy! I didn't notice until looking at back at the photos before I edited them, but the bump (Baby Anderson = BA) was on FULL display :) I guess BA wanted to say hi to you my readers.

Outfit Details: Blazer (H&M), Sequin Top (H&M), Overalls (Macy's), Gold Oxfords (Zara), Sunnies (Forever 21)

Don't be afraid to shine bright in your sequin during the day. If you want to tone it done, just throw on a blazer and that will do the trick.

Happy Hump Day,

Cat's Out The Bag...

So over the start of the weekend I let the cat out the bag. My husband and I are expecting our first child April 2016!!! I've been sitting on this news since August hence, the reason I haven't been blogging as much as I should have been lately. Trying to balance my first trimester (which actually went by WITHOUT any morning sickness, but with some MAJOR fatigue), school, church, school activities (being the Vice President of two organizations), and being a wife, kind of left my creative baby, my blog, on the back burner. But now that the cats out the bag, I can't wait to share my pregnancy journey with you my readers...all from my maternity style, my future baby's style, my baby related occasions (like my gender reveal party, baby shower) etc. and much much more. I'm excited to share bits and pieces of this journey with you as my life takes a turn for the better within the next six months. Here's a quick photo montage of the pregnancy announcement pics my awesome hubby took, as well as some life outtakes.

The official "Facebook Announcement" that we posted Friday, October 9, 2015, we used to announce to our extended family and friends that we were expecting a new bundle of joy

An unseen announcement that we created using Baby Anderson's first pair of shoes, the 7 week ultrasound picture, and the calendar showing his/her due date

Mommy and Daddy (to - be) at the Georgia National Fair after stuffing our faces with BBQ, pizza, elephant ears, cotton candy, and taking in some of the local sounds and sites of GA
FYI: I purchased Baby Anderson's first baby moccasins from Love Me Some Bargains. You can find them here. I ordered size 6-12 months in camel (so the baby could wear them a little longer). I'm pretty sure I will stock up on more colors very soon because they are just so adorable. They were very reasonably priced, and came rather quickly from the order date to the delivery date.

We will back to our regularly scheduled Ali's Fashion Sense blogging post on Wednesday but I just wanted to share my happy news with you all! Happy Monday Luvs! Let's make today the best day yet.

Love

Leather Crop Top + Maxi Skirt

So I know it's technically Fall, however, where I stay in Georgia it has been in the high 70s all week. Talk about seasonal trickery. With that being said, I decided to pull out my leather crop top, maxi skirt, fedora, and sandals. I tried to make the look a little more fall-ish by vamping up the lip with M.A.C's Darkside Lipstick. The thing about this look is the fact that I could dress it up by adding a few items like a structured blazer, clutch, and a pair of gladiator heels.

Outfit Details: Leather Crop Top (Forever 21), Maxi Skirt (Express), Fedora (H&M), Earrings (Forever 21), Sandals (Target)

Fall is one of my favorite seasons with the boots, capes, ponchos, sweaters, hot cocoa, fire places but when the weather refuses to follow suit for the intended season pull out your leather crop top and maxi skirt and shine bright!

White Maxi + Shaggy Fur Vest

HI!!!!! I've missed you all so much! I know you're probably thinking..."who are you?" It's been a little minute but I had to take a little break from blogging. I've had A LOT going on between school, church, being a wife etc. so I decided to take a short hiatus. But I'm back with some great stuff for you during this last half of the year. Can you believe it's already October??? So let's jump right into it.

Who said you can't wear white after Labor Day? Well, clearly I've put that myth to rest. As the temperatures drop slowly, I wanted to pull out my white maxi (that I received as a gift, that I haven't worn before), and style it with my shaggy fur vest. I was able to structure the bulky vest by adding a belt to define my waist. I then added my gladiator heels to give me a little more height so my dress would not drag on the ground. My fedora was added to create a little element of cool! I finished out the look by layering gold jewelry (necklace, earrings, sunnies, and a broach). It truly pulled the entire look together. Check out the full outfit below.

Outfit Details: White Maxi (Express), Fur Vest (Forever 21), Belt (Unknown), Gladiator Sandals (DSW), Necklace (Thrifted), Fedora (Forever 21), Sunnies (Forever 21), Earrings (Forever 21)

Is it super cold in your area already and you can't get away with wearing short sleeves? Swap the vest for a cute leather motorcycle jacket OR layer the moto jacket on top of the maxi and use the vest as your outer most layer. Would you wear a maxi with a fur vest? Let me know in the comment section below.

P.S. It feels good to be back. I missed you all ;)

Happy Monday,
-Ali
