Coral and Orange

Coral and orange may sound like an unlikely combination but when paired together it works! My inspiration for this ensemble was a pair of sandals that I own; they're orange with a fuchsia heel and I'm quite sure you've seen them on my blog previously. These shoes prompted me to grab my coral dress and pair it with an orange necklace. As you all know, I'm an avid black and white wearer but I love color also. ALI FASHION TIP: If you're afraid to wear bright colors start with colorful accessories (like my necklace or shoes, or even a bright lip) as a bright foundation then expand your color palette when you feel more comfortable.

Outfit Details: Coral Dress (H&M), Orange Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Orange Necklace (Charlotte Russe), Feather Earrings (Charlotte Russe), MK Watch (Macy's)

This weekend I challenge you to grab two unlikely colors and combine them in a unique way. Good luck :) *Happy Friday!!! *

Sheer Florals

Sometimes simplicity is best. Sunday, I didn't feel like getting super dressy for church (which is totally fine at our church). I just wanted to throw on something chic, yet casual, that's breathable, and comfortable. As I flipped through my handy dandy iPad for inspiration, I came across a floral blouse and white skinny jeans. Thats how I landed on this look: sheer floral blouse, white, cropped pants (that I rolled up), and my nude sandals. It's a very cutesy look, and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Outfit Details: Sheer Floral Lauren Conrad Blouse (Kohl's), White Cropped MK Trousers (TJ Maxx), Nude Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Floral Bracelet (Forever 21), Sunnies (Forever 21)

By the looks of this photo shoot you can tell the vibe of my day! Very C-H-I-L-L lol! Happy Hump Day everyone. Enjoy today, you're a couple days away from the weekend :) Just hold on *Drake voice* a little longer.

Friday Prints

Thank goodness it's Friday!!! It's been a long week. I just started "Summer School" this week and I've already been knee deep in homework. So I wanted to stop, take a minute, and get fly on this gorgeous Friday ;) I decided upon this look after browsing through the saved "Look Book" that I created on my iPad and iPhone from looks that catch my eye when browsing fashion blogs, online magazines, and fashion websites. It comes in very handy for days when I'm lollygagging aimlessly in my closet with "NOTHING TO WEAR!" Today's inspiration is courtesy of Fashion Bomb Daily where I stumbled across this look awhile ago. Check out the original post here. Of course I had to add my own little spin on the look, but you see the inspiration!

Ali's Fashion Tip: Don't be afraid to gather inspiration from people, places, or things! Just don't fall into the trap of being a "carbon - copy." Put your own twist on the outfit to make it your own!

Here's my interpretation of the inspirational look from above. I nixed the metallic oxfords and went for a neutral spiked peep toe pump. This look is sleek, chic, and casual, and I love it! The bold red lip adds a factor of intensity that helps the ensemble pop even more.

Outfit Details: Cream Blazer (Forever 21), Animal Print Blouse (Forever 21), Distressed Jeans (Forever 21), Spiked Peep Toe Pumps (Bakers), Earrings

Happy Friday luvs. Be sure to be safe and enjoy this three day weekend as we celebrate Memorial Day! See you back on Monday.

Floral Maxi

Summer is on it's way. The sun is out, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping. Tis the season for pulling out your effortless maxi dresses. I dusted off this one shoulder maxi that I scored from Macy's a couple years ago and styled it with my long flowing feather earrings, skinny belt (to cinch my waist), and sandals.

Outfit Details: Floral Maxi (Macy's), Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Earrings (Charlotte Russe), Belt (Forever 21), Orange Lippie (Bareface and Models), Gold Watch (Charming Charlie's), Sunglasses (H&M)

I love the cool tones that this maxi mixed together. What's your fav maxi to throw on when you want to be effortlessly chic? Happy Hump Day luvs :)

Stripes & Curls

I decided to try a perm rod set in my natural hair for the first time. I was a little nervous as to how my hair would turn out, but was pleasantly surprised at how it looked :) I've been a little under the weather the last couple of days so I wanted to get out of the house for some fresh air. I threw on my fav color combination: black and white and went to run some errands (Target, Goodwill, and Books- A- Million). This dress screams lets have a good time :)

Outfit Details: Dress (Ce La Vie), Sandals (NYC), MK Watch (Macy's), Necklace (Detroit), Sunnies (Aldo), "Heroine" Lippie (M.A.C)

Happy Monday!

Friday, May 16, 2014 #MyVegasStyle Challenge

Have you heard the saying..."What Happens in Vegas...Ends on Facebook?" In lieu of our advances in technology there is no better way to share your wild and crazy vacation excursions with your family and friends via popular social media outlets. So when I was contacted by the Content Director from about joining in (along with other bloggers) on their upcoming #MyVegasStyle challenge I was ecstatic to join in on the fun.

"We would love to see your take on a day at the Aria Resort & Casino, one of Las Vegas’ premier hotel properties. Whether it’s lunch at Lemongrass, dinner at Javier’s, or a night out at Haze Nightclub, show us how your outfit transitions throughout the day."

With those guidelines given I quickly ran to to see the space that I would be inspired by (you can check out their website here). The space is modern, clean, artistic, and puts me in a thrilling mood (I guess that's the Vegas effect). I've created three looks "Poolside at the Liquid Pool Lounge," "Brunch at Javier's," and "A Night Out at Gold Nightclub" to chronologically show how to stylishly conquer a jammed packed Vegas day.

Poolside at the Liquid Pool Lounge

Brunch at Javier's

A Night Out at Gold Nightclub

As you can see no matter what you plan to tackle during your trip to Vegas, there is much to do, lots to take in, and plenty ways to look AMAZING! So next time you are planning your trip to Vegas don't forget to check out the Aria Resort & Casino to jump start your stay. TGIF luvs!
