Graphic Business

I love mixing casual and structured pieces. So I called this look graphic business. I paired my Notorious BIG Ready to Die Graphic Tee with my red pencil skirt that I grabbed from the thrift shop for less than $10. I then added my nude pumps, crystal statement necklace, draped my denim jacket around my shoulders, and my black rimmed frames to pull the look together. Ali's Fashion Sense Tip: If you want  to create a casual chic look grab your favorite graphic tee, a structured bottom (i.e. a pencil skirt, midi skirt, or some tailored slacks), some nice pumps, and a nice jacket (denim jacket, blazer, or a moto jacket) to create a simple, comfortable look.

Outfit Details: Notorious BIG Tee (Urban Outfitters), Red Pencil Skirt (Thrifted), Denim Jacket (Forever 21), Statement Necklace (Charlotte Russe), Nude Pumps (Forever 21), Black - Rimmed Frames (Forever 21)

Isn't the baby on this tee so adorable? I always loved looking at this CD cover when I was a young tyke. I'm sure the little boy is old now...wonder what he looks like? What do you think about wearing a graphic tee with a structured bottom? Where would you rock this look?

TGIF my luvs. I hope you have a great weekend. I'm hoping that I can go and see Lucy this weekend! I will see you all here on Monday.

Tropical Vibes

There are times when you want to get away (like the Southwest tag line) but you can't. So you have to do the next best thing...pull out items that remind you of your fav place. This maxi just makes me happy when I put it on. The colors are so vibrant and this dress takes me back to my honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica where I got to relish on private beaches lined with palm trees while enjoying the soft rumblings of the ocean - boy what I wouldn't do to go back right now.

Outfit Details: Palm Tree Maxi (H&M), Fringe Vest (H&M), Wedges (TJ Maxx), Lock & Key Necklace (Forever 21), Gold Watch (Charming Charlie's), Charm Bracelet (Juicy Couture), Sunnies (Vintage)

I feel like Young Jeezy when he said...I need a vacation. But until I can find myself on a beach somewhere..the next best thing I can do is sport my printed maxi and think tropical vibes! Do you have any vacations planned for the last half of summer? What outfits in your closet garner thoughts about your favorite vacay locale? I'd love to hear about your escapades. Happy Hump Day.

Edgy Glam

So this past Tuesday, the hubby and I went to ATL to attend the On The Run Tour with Jay -Z and Beyonce'. This was my first time seeing Bey in concert so I didn't quite know what to expect...but I knew I was in for a treat, and boy was I right! Before heading to the concert we had dinner with one of my fav fellow FAMU couples. We ate a great soul-food dinner at Paschal's Restaurant downtown ATL, then we headed over to the Georgia Dome to prepare for the concert. I heard that you should NOT wear heels to the concert, and boy am I glad I didn't. You literally stand up the entire time Jay - Z & Beyonce are on stage which is about 2.5 hours (the concert started at 8:50PM and ended at 11:30PM).

I've been dying to get my hands on a full tulle skirt so I asked my stylist friend AshleyMonique! if she could make me one for the concert and she definitely delivered! Here is my original vision board for my concert style Edgy Glam here. The skirt turned out perfect! I loved the gold rose buttons on the back of the skirt. They give the skirt a bit of flare and make it unique. I paired the this grand tulle skirt with my cropped leather top, combat boots, and a bold lip. I loved how the look came together and most importantly I loved that the entire outfit was edgy yet comfortable so that I could dance the night away to the tunes of the Carters!

Outfit Details: Leather Crop Top (Forever 21), Tulle Skirt (Created by AshleyMonique!), Gold - Detailed Boots (Target), Gold Cross Necklace (Borrowed from AshleyMonique!), Gold Watch (Charming Charlie's), Sunnies (Forever 21), Gold Stud Earrings (Thrifted)

We had a brief photoshoot before hitting up the concert. Unfortunately, I couldn't take my camera into the arena and my phone wouldn't let me take any videos or pictures from the concert because I didn't have any storage left. But take my word the concert was great. If On The Run Tour is coming to your town, I would definitely suggest you attend! I hope you all have a great weekend. Be safe and have fun :)

Concert Ideas for Beyonce & Jay - Z's On The Run Tour

So on Tuesday the hubby and I are going up to the ATL to attend this summer's most anticipated concert: Beyonce & Jay-Z's On The Run Tour. This is my first time seeing Beyonce live, so I know I will be in for a treat (I actually saw Jigga about 2 years ago and he was amazing). I've heard so many great reviews about the concert, so I'm excited the day is actually near.

But with all great occassions there's always that burning question? What should I wear? Since I heard the concert was 3 hours of nonstop standing, dancing, partying, and an ultimate good time...the main thing I've heard is to NOT wear heels...unless you have feet made of armor (not me said the cat). With that being said if you are one of the lucky fans/stans hitting up the On The Run Tour in the next few weeks but have no idea what to wear don't you fret. I've put together three concert outfit alternatives that all involve flats so you can enjoy the concert fully without having to be bothered by your toes cramping in your cute pumps! Don't worry, I promise you will still look fly :)

TOMBOY CHIC
This rugged look is definitely tomboy chic. With a touch of animal print to help accentuate your girly side, and some blinged out accessories you are sure to be #Flawless in this simple, chic getup.

On The Run - Tomboy Chic

EDGY GLAM
This edgy glam look is perfect to rock out to your favorite tunes of Jay - Z & Beyonce. The soft tulle skirt with the tough metal accessories, and leather blazer make for a perfect play on pretty and punk. The bold red lip will be the perfect finishing touch as you belt out the tunes to Queen Bey - #Surfboard!

On The Run - Edgy Glam

BOHO POP PRINCESS
This delicate look is a breath of fresh air. The neutral color pallet in the soft textured fabrics allow you to channel your inner Coachella boho pop princess. The floral accents (headband and clutch) along with the gold accessories finish out the look in a strong way. Add an unexpected element like a body chain to bring the outfit to new heights. #GrownWoman

On The Run - Boho

Hopefully this post will give you some ideas for what to wear to the On The Run Tour. If you're not going, don't worry you can always use these looks for every day inspiration or for future concerts. I will be sure to give you all a play by play about the concert after I attend on Tuesday! Happy Monday luvs!
