African Prints

They say all civilization sprang from the Motherland aka Mother Africa. African Prints have been around for centuries in fashion circles. But more and more we've seen runway fashion and celebrities sport rich colors, prints, and patterns which originated from our African natives.

CELEBS IN AFRICAN PRINTS
Solange (the younger sister of Beyonce) has truly found her fashion niche! She is the queen of taking bold prints and colors and mixing them flawlessly to create a masterpiece. Her coiled fro helps to highlight her cool soulfulness. Draya Michelle, Elle Varner, and Rihanna showed us how to incorporate African prints on a daily basis.

These celebs are inspiration for creating your own personal lookbooks with African prints. If you want to be further inspired here is my take on how to create dope ensembles that feature African print.

BLAZE ON
This African print blazer helps to create a bold statement. The denim cutoffs with the cropped black cami and black cutout wedges help to create an edgier look. I absolutely LOVE the golden Africa shaped earrings (which I found searching Etsy.com).

MIXING PRINTS
If you are bold enough to pull off mixing prints, GO FOR IT! This look takes some African printed pants and matches it with a striped cropped shirt. The neutral colored vest and fringed sandals help to tone down the graphic prints.

TUMBLR ROUNDUP
Here is a roundup of some African prints that I found on Tumblr! This is simply a visual montage to get you excited about purchasing African print to add to your spring/summer lineup. I am in love with the Kente Cloth turban, bow ties, and earrings.

Hopefully you have an awesome day! Happy Monday luvs.
