Day 11: Cutoffs

We have one more day until the weekend! Today marks Day 11 of "Ali's 31 Days of Fresh!" Today highlights one of this summers hottest trends...Cutoff Shorts.

CUTESY CUTOFFS
One of this summers hottest trends are cutoff shorts. Cutoffs can come with tie dye, spikes, distressed, or even painted with stars. You can really highlight your own personality with these cutesy denim bottoms.

THURSDAY FUNNY
So I went to Goodwill a couple weeks ago and purchased a pair of black vintage jeans and attempted to make my own DIY angled cutoffs. Let me tell you "fashion sensers" it was an EPIC FAIL lol! I'm going to try my attempt again very soon. If they turn out better I will post them here on Ali's Fashion Sense. Until then, just marvel at these perfect summer treats below!

Day 8: Sneaker Wedges

Hey luvs! I hope you had an awesome 4th of July and a great refreshing weekend. I know I did :) I was able to spend some time with my hubby and in - laws (mother and brother in - law) who were in town for the holiday. We ate good, we watched some really great movies (on Netflix and at the theatre), and we just enjoyed each others company!

I'm sure you've been "Keeping Up With Ali's 31 Days of Fresh" so you know we're eight days in! I hope you all have been enjoying the mini post that I've been posting on here pertaining to the challenge. Today marks Day 8: Sneaker Wedges!

You all should be familiar with sneaker wedges if you are a follower of Ali's Fashion Sense, because I've covered them a time or two (or three or four) on here! But today we are celebrating this cool, comfy sneaker trend! So in the words of Jay - Z "Show me what ya got!"


SNEAKER WEDGES
Everyone from Nike to Giuseppe have grabbed on to this popular shoe trend. You can find them in any price range no matter if you have a tight $30 budget or are able to drop a stack you are in luck! These casual shoes take any outfit and raise the bar (and your height) with their conveniently placed wedged heel which gives you style and comfort to take on your day.

Day 4: Red, White, and Blue

Today is Day 4 in the "Ali's 31 Days of Fresh" July Photo Challenge (#Alis31daysoffresh). But it also marks the day we as Americans celebrate our Independence aka the 4th of July! So it's only fitting that today's challenge involve incorporating "red, white, and blue!"

Weekend Recap: Gladiators

GORGEOUS GLADIATORS

Last week I ordered a pair of cutout gladiators in cognac from makemechic.com. I scored them for about $32 (including tax, shipping and a coupon code). I must say they were well worth it. I was so anxious to wear them that I wore them to church yesterday. I paired them with this blush colored ruffled dress that I bought from Forever 21 a couple of years ago along with gold accessories (my gold watch from Target that you've seen countless times, as well as my BBW inspired earrings). The intricate cutouts add for interesting details. Wouldn't you agree?

Over the knee gladiators sandals are one of summers hottest shoe grabs. You can find them in all different price ranges and in an array of colors across the color spectrum. As for my weekend, I didn't do too much. Friday, I attended my weekly Zumba class. Saturday I ran my first book club with some middle school aged girls (from my church) at Bare Bulb coffee shop. That was a lot of fun! Sunday, I went to church, the gym, watched movies on Netflix, and pranced around in my gladiator sandals. How did your weekend pan out? 

Gentlemen's Club: White Hot Attire

Summer  equates to sun, fun, beaches, BBQ's, lounging, road trips, cruises, and of course parties. Your calendar seems to pick up steam in the warm summer months of June, July, August, and the beginning of September. You try to pack as much adventure as possible into the swiftly passing 92 days. Trying to cease every moment of the warm goodness Mother Nature blesses us with for this short time frame, before you have to completely rearrange your closet from shorts, tank tops, and sandals to down coats, boots, and gloves.

We know summer and all the parties that follow are in full effect. It seems like every weekend you get at least a dozen invitations on Facebook, Twitter, or any other possible social media outlet you can imagine to attend. A big trend for summer is to throw an all white party! If you're like me, your first reaction (after you've decided you will attend is)..."what should I wear"??? Well, this post is here strictly for my fellas, who need a little inspiration after RSVP'ing to an all white affair.

I've created two looks that you can reference as a blueprint! The first look is more for a Day Party. Its very casual but still polished. The second look transitions from day to night and is for that gentlemen trying to expose his grown and sexy side. It offers a hint of sophistication and a dash of cool.

As you can see, it's fairly simple to come up with a pallet for a white party if you have an idea of the basics (you will need a top, bottoms, shoes, and accessories etc). And if you search hard enough you can find pieces within a decent price range to add to your ever growing closet. So go out and get WHITE HOT!
