Sporty in Gray

I could've titled today's post 50 shades of gray because on Saturday, I went for this monochromatic look with various hues of gray. I've worn this dress many times and try to challenge myself to wear it differently each time. On this particular occasion I was able to layer different gray items in my closet, starting with the dress, then the pull over, then with the metallic sneaker wedges to create a soft, cool, sporty vibe. The thing I loved about this look was it was subdued but it still was fun, not to mention comfortable (you can't beat that)! The sneaker wedges added a playful element to the look, and the layered necklace gave it a little extra push to take it from drab to fab!

I love when I am able to continuously reinvent a piece in my closet and make it look totally different. When I created this look, my husband asked if it was a new dress. That is the key to successfully maximizing your wardrobe. Every time someone sees you they should "think" you are a professional shopper for a living lol...because of how you're able to reinvent and switch up your wardrobe to make it "appear" new.

Gray High/LowDress (Forever 21), Gray Pull Over (Forever 21), Metallic Sneaker Wedges (Target), Layered Necklace (Forever 21), Love Multifinger Ring (Charlotte Russe), MK Watch (Macy's)

I hope you have a terrific Tuesday luvs. Let it be filled with purpose, passion, and productivity!

Spring Nude Pallet

Spring is all about color: pastels, creams, and whites. On Saturday as I was picking out my clothes for church I started out with a blank slate. I knew I wanted to wear my cream J-Lo dress that I picked up from Kohl's a couple years ago. Once I had the foundation I wanted to add a little color to liven up this simple dress. I went for my burnt orange silky blouse and my coral, cream, and gold necklace. I used my sleek nude pumps to balance out the outfit, then slicked my hair in a high bun to pull the look together. I love the subdued nude pallet. It's soft and quiet, yet it is refreshing!

Outfit Details: Cream J-Lo Dress with Gold Buckle, which is hidden (Kohl's), Burnt Orange Blouse (Forever 21), Nude Pumps (Forever 21), Necklace (Charlotte Russe), Ring (Forever 21), Cream & Gold Watch (Target)

This classy polished look put me in a regal state of mind. Hopefully that carries on into today! Happy Monday luvs. I hope you have an awesome day!

Coral and Orange

Coral and orange may sound like an unlikely combination but when paired together it works! My inspiration for this ensemble was a pair of sandals that I own; they're orange with a fuchsia heel and I'm quite sure you've seen them on my blog previously. These shoes prompted me to grab my coral dress and pair it with an orange necklace. As you all know, I'm an avid black and white wearer but I love color also. ALI FASHION TIP: If you're afraid to wear bright colors start with colorful accessories (like my necklace or shoes, or even a bright lip) as a bright foundation then expand your color palette when you feel more comfortable.

Outfit Details: Coral Dress (H&M), Orange Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Orange Necklace (Charlotte Russe), Feather Earrings (Charlotte Russe), MK Watch (Macy's)

This weekend I challenge you to grab two unlikely colors and combine them in a unique way. Good luck :) *Happy Friday!!! *

Sheer Florals

Sometimes simplicity is best. Sunday, I didn't feel like getting super dressy for church (which is totally fine at our church). I just wanted to throw on something chic, yet casual, that's breathable, and comfortable. As I flipped through my handy dandy iPad for inspiration, I came across a floral blouse and white skinny jeans. Thats how I landed on this look: sheer floral blouse, white, cropped pants (that I rolled up), and my nude sandals. It's a very cutesy look, and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Outfit Details: Sheer Floral Lauren Conrad Blouse (Kohl's), White Cropped MK Trousers (TJ Maxx), Nude Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Floral Bracelet (Forever 21), Sunnies (Forever 21)

By the looks of this photo shoot you can tell the vibe of my day! Very C-H-I-L-L lol! Happy Hump Day everyone. Enjoy today, you're a couple days away from the weekend :) Just hold on *Drake voice* a little longer.

Friday Prints

Thank goodness it's Friday!!! It's been a long week. I just started "Summer School" this week and I've already been knee deep in homework. So I wanted to stop, take a minute, and get fly on this gorgeous Friday ;) I decided upon this look after browsing through the saved "Look Book" that I created on my iPad and iPhone from looks that catch my eye when browsing fashion blogs, online magazines, and fashion websites. It comes in very handy for days when I'm lollygagging aimlessly in my closet with "NOTHING TO WEAR!" Today's inspiration is courtesy of Fashion Bomb Daily where I stumbled across this look awhile ago. Check out the original post here. Of course I had to add my own little spin on the look, but you see the inspiration!

ALI'S FASHION INSPIRATION
Ali's Fashion Tip: Don't be afraid to gather inspiration from people, places, or things! Just don't fall into the trap of being a "carbon - copy." Put your own twist on the outfit to make it your own!

ALI'S FASHION REMIX
Here's my interpretation of the inspirational look from above. I nixed the metallic oxfords and went for a neutral spiked peep toe pump. This look is sleek, chic, and casual, and I love it! The bold red lip adds a factor of intensity that helps the ensemble pop even more.

Outfit Details: Cream Blazer (Forever 21), Animal Print Blouse (Forever 21), Distressed Jeans (Forever 21), Spiked Peep Toe Pumps (Bakers), Earrings

Happy Friday luvs. Be sure to be safe and enjoy this three day weekend as we celebrate Memorial Day! See you back on Monday.

Floral Maxi

Summer is on it's way. The sun is out, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping. Tis the season for pulling out your effortless maxi dresses. I dusted off this one shoulder maxi that I scored from Macy's a couple years ago and styled it with my long flowing feather earrings, skinny belt (to cinch my waist), and sandals.

Outfit Details: Floral Maxi (Macy's), Sandals (Charlotte Russe), Earrings (Charlotte Russe), Belt (Forever 21), Orange Lippie (Bareface and Models), Gold Watch (Charming Charlie's), Sunglasses (H&M)

I love the cool tones that this maxi mixed together. What's your fav maxi to throw on when you want to be effortlessly chic? Happy Hump Day luvs :)

Stripes & Curls

I decided to try a perm rod set in my natural hair for the first time. I was a little nervous as to how my hair would turn out, but was pleasantly surprised at how it looked :) I've been a little under the weather the last couple of days so I wanted to get out of the house for some fresh air. I threw on my fav color combination: black and white and went to run some errands (Target, Goodwill, and Books- A- Million). This dress screams lets have a good time :)

Outfit Details: Dress (Ce La Vie), Sandals (NYC), MK Watch (Macy's), Necklace (Detroit), Sunnies (Aldo), "Heroine" Lippie (M.A.C)

Happy Monday!
